This in an example of a typical department manager’s matrix, which would be reviewed and updated during weekly management meetings. In this case, colours are used to illustrate progress of an action:
- Red – requires immediate action
- Orange – action in progress
- Green – action completed
This matrix was created as an introduction to team idea generation. Team members modify the matrix on an on-going basis. Innovation shouldn’t be a one-off board room activity; members of an organisation should be continuously developing their existing ideas.
